Poverty. Nobody is safe from it. Regardless of race, color, or creed, poverty is a threat that, for any one of us, could be right around the corner. Poverty threatens to take our home, our loved ones, or even our health at a moment’s notice. What about the families that poverty has already found? Where can the single mothers of Northern Virginia go when life seems to be closing in around them? What will happen to their children and their children’s futures? Where can you go when you are on the brink of it all?
Community Empowerment of Northern Virginia (CENV) is here for you or anyone else who needs support, guidance, and most importantly, help. CENV is a grass-roots non-profit organization dedicated to supporting as many low-income families and single mothers as possible. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly, making minimum wage for performing their duties admirably, sometimes even spending money out of their own pockets to make sure this organization is the best it can be. They do it because they believe in the cause, and the work they are doing to empower their community.
At the forefront of CENV’s community services is our after school care, where we provide safe, quality care at a minimal price. This program helps low-income families every day and is especially tailored towards helping single mothers during the work week. CENV also provides relief, educational seminars, holiday assistance programs, and much more to the families of Northern Virginia.
